At aprox 7:30am Tuesday October 23, 2007 I saw what looks like a meteor, or comet.

It ain't a meteorite until it hits the earth...it's a meteor while still in space or traveling through atmosphere. To me it looks like a jumbo jet approaching the horizon/sunset. Meteors travel at 30,000mph, so it would be rare to catch it.
