(Poulsbo, Kitsap County) A dump truck carrying a full load of gravel rolled over this morning on State Highway 3 just south of the Hood Canal Bridge.
Rescue crews from the Poulsbo Fire Department and North Kitsap Fire and rescue responded and found the rolled truck to be leaking a small amount of fuel. The driver of the truck appeared uninjured and declined aid. No other vehicles were involved. It appears that, as the driver was attempting to merge onto Highway 3 from the Hood Canal Bridge, he drove too close to the road’s edge and slid into a deep ditch. Traffic slowed but the highway remained open. The Washington State Patrol is investigating the incident.
