There is a child who goes to PRAIRIE, a School in the Yelm school district who has a confirmed case of MRSA. He has been in Quarantine at the Good Samaritan Hospital for the last 24 hours. The school says that legally they do not have to report it. As a concerened mother, I AM! Even though my own child does not got to that school, I know the childs parents very well. They are frustrated because they will not let the other parents know about it. So I wanted to contact all news agencies and let them know. So I am letting the news know so other parents can learn about it and check thier own children. I will not give out any personal information about this child. A large percentage of the population is colonized with MRSA and doesn't even know it. It is widespread in the schools, even on people without boils or obvious infections. This child is definitely not the only one.

Thank you for letting parents know I think it is very important for everyone to be aware and I feel like the schools should have to report it so that all precautions can be taken. Our thoughts and prayers are with the child.

I think I typed this to fast, but what it is meant to say is that they parents wanted to let other parents know about this and to get thier kids checked. They are not frustrated with the school, but frustrated with not knowing how to get the word out
