Recipe for Success

Students from Bellevue College’s Occupational & Life Skills program will be expanding their cooking prowess with Chef Carol Dearth at Sizzleworks Cooking School. February16, from 10 a.m. to noon, Chef Carol will be teaching and working with the students in a hands-on experience, preparing an entire meal and enjoying dining together. Basic cooking is an optional part of the program, and the students are eager to take their new found cooking skills to the next level, preparing delicious, healthy meals as a stepping stone to becoming independent and well prepared for life.

The Occupational & Life Skills Program is designed for a small number of developmental disabled students that are gaining the college experience and learning how to succeed on their own or in a group house setting. Bellevue College offers an Associate Degree in Occupational and Life Skills, the only one of its kind in the US.
