From Homeless to Homeowner – The Story of a determined man

When Dave walked into my office he wanted to buy a home – he was sleeping in his car. He had already been to one of the Big 4 Banks and they referred him to us – they didn’t want to bother with him. (really!)
Sure, we had challenges along the way, but Dave was determined to solve any hurdle that came up.
First we needed to fix his credit - there was a small issue that wasn’t very difficult to fix. Kelly, at Credit Restoration of WA helped him to do that.
Then the next step was finding him a home that would fit his needs and his budget. Greg Fredericksen from Windermere spent a couple of months driving him around 3 counties to find the perfect home.
As it turns out, Greg was able to put together a land and manufactured home package with the help of Imperial Home Sales out of Chehalis. They gave him the factory cost on a new mfg home, and fronted the construction costs to put the home on the land.
We used the loan program from the Washington State Housing Finance Commission that has a no payment second mortgage - perfect for individuals that fit that program.
We have never been so proud to close a home loan and had the new homeowner the keys to his new home.
It seems that all too often we hear bad news – especially when related to the housing market – there are lots of great stories and individuals that are seizing this time to make a difference in their homeownership situation.
Congratulations Dave and to the team that supported his determination.
