Each morning at 8:00am I take a bag of peanuts ot the front door to be greeted by by a bevy of local friends my wife and I share our yard with. on some days there are as many as 12 crows, 5 or 6 squirrels, 4 bluejays several towhees and an assortment of other small bird as well as one large seagul I call Oscar. I snowy days I usually clean a pot under the birdfeeder for the small birds to get their food then after shoveling the walk I put the peanuts out. Our local squirrels insist on burying a few in the snow and then digging them up again. Here is a photo of one of my regulars retriving a peanut he had just buried. It's always a good way to start the day to see the front yard come alive with busy little craturs. They often make me laugh ~smile~
