What: The 70th Annual International Plowing Match. Come on out and watch competitors get their hands dirty as they step back in time and plow the land with a team of draft horses just as our ancestors did when they homesteaded the land! Hope to see you there and come sign the guest book to let us know how far you trekked to see the Gentle Giants of the horse world!
When: Saturday April 16th, 2011. Plowing begins at 11am and goes until 3pm.
Where: Berthusen Park. Lynden, WA
Cost: FREE admission and FREE parking!
DIRECTIONS: From I-5 take exit 256 for Meridian St, which becomes Guide Meridian. Head north on the Guide Meridian.
Turn west on Badger Rd and continue past the Jackman Rd. Continue past Berthusen Rd. (Berthusen Park) and prepare to make a left after the tree line on Badger Rd.
Cornelius (Cornie) Verduin with his wife, Elvina at the Plowing Match. Cornie was a co-founder of Lynden's first International Plowing Match in 1942.
