Part 2 of the 'Battle of Port Gamble', Civil War reenactment @ the historic town of Port Gamble, WA Sunday, June 26th 2011. This is the best of the 11AM battle from behing Union lines. The cannon fire and rifle reports ring out! Calvary horses run skirmishes into enemy territory. The wounded on both sides fall on the turf as young medics and nurses run to their aide. On the edge of the field a Union marching band plays a battle hymn while Old Glory still stands visible through the smoke.

There are several former military who are in reenacting. The people who want to dress and play fantasy are a small minority. It's not a game like paintball or airsoft. The so-called "battles" are mostly for the public.

Nut jobs. They need to join the military and experience reality. War is not a game of dress-up and fantasy. It's sweat and pain, blood, and terror.
