This is a picture of a local Bremerton Coast Guardsman who lost everything in a house fire over the weekend. They were sifting through things after the fire to see if anything made it. Only this flag and the stuff in a fire proof safe were recovered untouched. The story about finding the flag is amazing and a true miracle. This is what his fiance said about the picture when posting onto Facebook this morning. "This is Nick Sutton with his dad's military burial flag (he lost his dad April 1, 2010) completely in tact-found in a space bag by that small little window on the 2nd floor directly behind him. The worst damaged area of the house is where you see that roof collapse. Do you see how close that it?!?! This is a true miracle and we are...well, we fell to our knees crying." There is and account set up at Wells Fargo under "fort street house fire fund". This is such an amazing story of a real life miracle. This is a tribute to patriotism and a little light in a dark time. (His dad was in the Marines and the flag was from the burial which as you know, would never be able to be replaced).
In the midst of darkness a little light
