For my sons 8th birthday he decided he did not want birthday presents....he wanted money to buy bullet proof vests for our local K-9 officers. The 3 dogs on our local force were not protected while they worked to protect us. He worked really hard to raise money doing yard sales, bakes sales, and also did several news broadcasts to collect $4,200.69. He not only bought vests for our 3 dogs but 1 other for a local department and a used vest for the same department. The left over money went to buy emergency heat detection equipment for one of the police cars. He worked really hard to help the police dogs and is already making plans on the ways that he will be able to help the someone else. He has even done a food drive for one of his friends families whose house burnt down in a fire. I am very prod of him and can't wait to help him with his next big idea of changing bad news into good news. With this grant the sky would be the limit. Thanks!!!
