Mary Sweeney is one of the most hard working, and most helpful people I know. She volunteers through The Centralia FFA almost everyday, and is proudly her chapters Sentinal, and going for President next year. Also every friday along with going to help her grandfather take care of her handicapped grandmother, she wakes up at six to go help people in need at The Greater Chehalis Food Bank in Chehalis, Washington. She loves to help the community in anyway she can. For example, at least once a week she goes around town Centralia, Washington and cleans up garbage off the streets, or she'll help students that need help in school but do not have enough money to hire a tutor. Also, last year The Lewis County Senior Center almost got shutdown because they didn't have money to keep the place running. When she see's a need, she fills it.She spent almost a month baking a cooking, leading up to a giant bake sale she held to earn money for the center. When the bake sale was over she had donated over 200 dollars to the center to help keep it running. The center was so thankful they did a page long ad in there paper thanking her. She has done so much more for the Lewis County Community it would be almost impossible to write an essay on it. She deserves any scholarships she can get to follow her dreams to be a Veterinarian and hopefully own an animal shelter in the future. She is not just a hardworking and helpful young lady either, she is also very smart. In 2008 she won the highest Presidential Award for Educational Excellence. She has also be given multiple foreign exchange student offers but had to turn them down because of her parents low income. She is now in High School with a 3.85 GPA and is applying for Scholarships to go to Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. Thank you for your time reading this, and if anything please help her by giving her the chance at the Brotherton Community Champions Scholarships.
