Snowy in Centralia

Record snow overnight turned the landscape around my Centralia, Washington home into a wintery snowscape. I grabbed my camcorder and investigated. The usually quiet streets were filled with sounds of snow shovels scraping, car tires spinning, and young snowball victims shrieking on impact. No basketball, though.

On the Pearl Street bridge over the Skookumchuck River in the North end of Centralia there was snow on the road--slushy by now from plowing and traffic--snow over the road, on the structure, and snow under the road, along the riverbank.

Photographing the snow was the fun part. Scooping it afterward wasn't.
