Snow is always questionable for a chicken. Yesterday morning as always, Carl Askren, 15 went out to let his chickens out for the day, taking the camera with him this time. Not one chicken volunteered to be first into the snow. So Carl picked his favorite 3 year old pet Americauna chicken, Jumpy, and tossed her onto the giant spool for a quick picture. She did not know what to do so she just stood there until he picked her back up and carried her away from the cool white blanket covering the ground and back to her friends. Apparently, we just don't get enough snow here for chickens to be used to it or remember seeing it before for that matter.
