"Monkey Tail" Tree withstands arctic blast and stands strong!

Arlington snow just keeps on going...

Today (Thurs., 1-19-12), was supposed to be Get-back-to-normal weather day. But I had to shovel snow again since yesterday, up here in Arlington, just east of the municipal airport. I came in out of the snow with flakes encrusted all over my coat (could not shake them off). These snaphots include a photo of our "Monkey Tail tree" (officially nick-named "Monkey Puzzle tree"). Wind and snow seems to make this tree stronger. Not much shade in summer, and dangerous to brush up against while mowing (thanks to its sharp, prickly branches and trunk), but we never fear it will fall on our house. Then there's the little plant hanger containing ugly, spindly twigs which grabbed as many snowflakes it could possibly hold as if magnetic!
