Dog's Nose Used for Bulldozing

Our dog Bo is a 4 year old Bichon/Maltese mix, and he loves snow more than any other dog I've ever seen. We cannot keep him out of it! His fur is long, so every time he comes in his belling and legs are covered with ball of compacted snow. It takes us a 1/2 hour just to de-snow him. I'm not sure why we try since he's always right back at the door whining to get out. He puts his nose in the snow and acts like he's a bulldozer. I have no idea why his nose hasn't frozen off yet!!!
