Coyote with locked up chickens in back

Magnolia Coyote kills backyard chickens

The coyote that has been spotted around Dicovery Park in Magnolia now has a body count. Yesterday at around noon in broad daylight, the coyote jumped a fence into a nearby backyard and terrorized a flock of urban chickens. Out of the four total, one was eaten, one was seriosly injured, one suffered loss of some feathers, and one was just scared. When the pets owner realized what happened, she locked the three up in their coop, and brought her dogs, and kids indoors. Today at about the same time as yesterday the coyote came back into the yard for seconds. The owner took these photo's before yelling at the coyote to go away. The family is not sure what to do at this point, as they are afraid to let their animals and kids outside.

We had the coyote in our front yard last week on 38th Avenue NW & Ruffner, we have chickens as well, but so far they have been safe.
