Out of the blue a hummingbird landed on me when i was at a friends house and it stayed with me all day

Was it out of fuel? Did you mix up water and sugar and try and feed it? We use natural turbiado sugar. Hummingbirds are a study, they will drink out of your hose while you are watering the flowers, tap on your head or window if the feeder is empty.
