Bump in the sink

We recently moved to our home that was built in the 50's. My husband usually does all the remodeling of our home himself, but has developed degenerative discs in his back. He still works but in in very bad pain. We have a 20 year old handicapped son, that I would like to convert this bathroom to help accomadate his needs. I shower him myself as he cannot take care of himself. I am a stay at home to care for our son. Which in turn my husband works that much harder. I would love to be able to help him as he has given so much to us. Please help to help my son and my husband, as well as myself so I don't bump into the sink, when using the restroom.
