I was thrilled when my husband, Michael, son, Jason and I moved from a mobile home into a 1950s era house. After living in a boxcar for the first 14 years of our marriage, even our modest-sized house seemed great!
The biggest challenge in our house has been the kitchen. I try to be health-conscious so make a lot of our meals from scratch. But with less than ten feet of counter space, I don't have a lot of room to work. It has been my dream to extend our tiny kitchen into our dining room area. That would give us room to eat comfortably in the kitchen (we are currently use a dropleaf table that is so small that my son usually retreats to his room with his plate of food) as well as increase our storage area.
