Three REASONS to convert this attic space into a family-room/playroom.

1.I am a widowed mom raising 3 children in a 90+ year old home with only 900 sq feet. There is no financial resources to update this home. The children have 2 tiny bedrooms, I sleep in the living room. We simply need more room to grow.
2. Our home is in need of some TLC, extending the attic space up to create a playroom would require new roofing (leaky roof), updating ancient wiring (potential fire hazard) and insulating the attic would help keep our drafty old home warmer in the winter (there is very little to no insulation in this space now…Burrrr!).
3. There is a sexual offender that lives on our street, my children and the neighbor children must have direct adult supervision at all times. There are times they are required to be in the house because of safety concerns. The children need to be able to play freely and have the space to be entertained, creative and interact with their friends.

I found out about this family just the other day. I have worked for Adopt A Family for about 14 years. This is one of the most deserving family situations I have ever run across. I pray that they will be helped with this program.

I know this family. The woman has a heart of gold. She is raising her 3 grandchildren after the recent death of her husband and daughter. The house is old. She needs and deserves help desperately.

I know this person and not only is she raising her grandchildren alone(their mother passed last year)but when her husband passed, she lost their home business and livelyhood. She has certainly had enough loss in the past few years. She has my vote!

I think giving these children a safe haven is a must. Being a single parent is hard enough without the added pressure of knowing a pedifile is right around the corner. How could anyone say no to the safety of a child? This family has my vote.
