Hi, I'm a disabled, single mom, and was recently divorced, but thrilled that I could actually qualify and buy a house for my son to finally have a home. My son was devastated about the divorce, but looked forward to having a home, which he hadn't had for the 5 years his Dad and I were separated. We lived in a house with 4 other women for 4 of those years. I never believed it could happen. Well, after moving in, a contractor took $7000 of the money I got from a 2nd mortgage to make the home livable, damaged the home badly and left. It's been 2 and a half years and my son can't even move into his room. The contractor, Jogan Concrete, was licensed and bonded, but while he was ruining my home, he lost his license and someone else sued and beat me to the bond money. Any small portion of the bond I may get was used up for legal fees. It's the old painful tale of the single woman screwed by contractors and screwed by the legal system. So I still am out $7000. Since my money is gone, I don't have the $$ to fix the kitchen, which was designed so badly originally that the (new) floor boards are coming off, and I cannot fit a table into the kitchen, so the table sits right in my front room. I'd like to open up the kitchen and fix the floors, and be able to put my kitchen table in the kitchen. Please help. We've lost the joy of having a home, living in a constant what look like a bombed-out war zone, and I am constantly worrying and anxious about living in the ravages of a dishonest crook who took my money, damaged my home, and left me to pick up the pieces. I would appreciate your help so much, and would feel finally like my son and I have a home.
