My husband took these pictures of the lightning from our home in Elma, WA on 07/13/2012. The first (DSC_1563) was taken at 9:21 pm and the second (DSC_1565) was taken at 9:29. We thought the second somewhat resembled the profile of a man's face and the first is simply fascinating. The pictures were shot toward the east as the storm approached our area moving westerly and was approximately 2 miles away (counting how many seconds between lightning and thunder and dividing by 5). It was the best storm I've EVER seen in W. WA in 35 years!
Fantastic lightning bolts
