Fire near Lake Limerick in Shelton

A late afternoon fire broke out near Lake Limerick today, darkening skies for a few miles surrounding the fire. At the intersection of Mason Lake and McEwan Prairie Roads, people filled a vacant field and watched as firefighters from several Mason County fire protection districts fought from both the ground and above.

We live out here at Lake Limerick and are just waiting for some news..... though it's a few miles south of us and on the other side of the street there are a lot of homes out here and a LOT of dry brush and trees....

An update would be nice. Is it still burning? Is it contained?

I haven't heard any helicopters in a couple hours and at last word 75% of it had been contained. It's about two acres in size. It started on a Bonneville power line tract about a mile from Lake Limerick. So far no homes are in immediate danger.
