My team here at work always enjoy the stories my Manager, Chris Gunnell shares with us about his family. Many if not all are always about his children and especially the youngest Ian, who is 6 years old. Funny stories from plugging up the toilet and politely writing a sign on the door to NOT enter to asking Santa for a slinky but pronounced it incorrectly and his sister telling santa he wanted a twinkie in stead.
About two or so months ago, Chris's stories turned from silly incidences to Ian just keeps complaining about his legs hurting and no one can tell the family what the cause was.
On September 7, 2012 Ian was diagnosed with leukemia.
Ian and his family are facing a rare and aggressive form of the disease (Blastic Plasmactoid Dendritic Cell Neoplasm). There are only 25 documented cases in children and Ian's is the first to ever be seen or treated in Seattle!
The community of Poulsbo has come together along with friends, family and coworkers to help out the Gunnells. Friends were able to put up a site where donations can be collected and more details of the family and their situation.
The Gunnells (Father: Chris, Mother: Tanya, Big Brother, two sisters and Ian) need your help.
