On July 10, 2012 Retired firefighter Dan Carlman decided to visit his son Joel in Washington DC. It came to him, to to make the journey the conventional way, like airline, busline, or private vehicle, but by way of his new recumbent bike he admiringly refers to as the "Honey Badger". He posted his solo adventure on his Facebook page for all of his friends and family to share with him. Along the way, his memorable and exciting encounters with people and places was enjoyed by everyone. His trip was highlighted with his son Joel joining him on his final leg and triumphant entry into the city on October 2, 2012. It has certainly been my pleasure to congratulate him on a great accomplishment. Bo Kalii
