17 years after the first plans were conceived Sounder train service finally arrived in Lakewood. Hundreds of people joined local dignitaries, Sound transit officials and military bands to welcome the start of regular train service to Seattle. There were also events at the new South Tacoma station and at Freighthouse Square as part of the day long party.
