The city of Seattle needs to do a better job. This is not a new problem. It has however gotten considerably worse in the last 2-3 years. The homeless gypsies move into the neighborhood every few weeks, bikes, shopping carts, and trash. This is followed by the criminal element, stealing anything that is not secured. Anything that has metal value is turned into the un-scrupulus very local metal recycler for cash, no questions asked. We see the police visit the recycler almost weekly. Why doesn't the City shut this business down? As long as these nomads have places to sell their stolen property, (for pennies on the dollar) we all suffer. This actually happened recently. Two homeless men steal a brand new radiator off the back of a delivery truck. Then run down the street behind a row of parked cars. just outside the "Recycler's" gate, and proceed to tear out the copper core to sell to the recycler. after talking with the radiator shop, we found out that the radiator cost $800 dollars. We are at our wits end on how to best deal with, and solve this infestation.
