Diamonds in the Rough Regional Winner

Louis Tetreault of Everett was selected as the Briggs and Stratton Diamonds in the Rough Seattle area regional winner. Youth ages 7-14 were invited to submit a story, video, or picture collage about how baseball/softball had given them the "Power Within" to overcome an obstacle on or off the field. On March 31, an independent panel of judges met to determine the 19 nationwide regional winners as well as one winner from all entries received from areas not included in the 19 regions. As the regional winner, Louis has won $5,000 for his baseball league. Through April 20, 2008 the general public may vote for the grand prize winner by logging on to, . The Grand prize winner will receive $10,000 for their local baseball league as well as a trip for four to New York to watch the Yankees play.
