I was at home this afternoon when a sudden squall came over the house. Hail and fat drops of rain were pounding the roof. A few minutes later I looked out the window to the east at the Cascades and saw a lovely downburst of rain which produced the most brilliant rainbow I have ever seen. I decided to get bundled up and head to Alki and watch mother nature put on a show, and she did not disappoint. Once I got to Constellation park the storm was moving towards the east and went right over head. These "stormbands" I photographed were churning and turning and were so beautiful! I am glad I was patient.
