I witnessed this ominous cloud hanging over southern Auburn around 6:00PM on Oct. 21st. It turns out to be what is know as a SCUD cloud that is created when severe wind sheer along with cold air down drafts from a cumulous cloud overhead aare present. This cloud went all the way to the ground and was probably close to a quarter mile wide at the base.
