While hunting for asteriod 2012DA14 I managed to take a few
shots of the moon and planets. The photos were taken with
a Meade 10 inch Schmidt-Cassegrain (f6.3) and a Nikon D3000 digital camera. The Moon and Jupiter photos were taken around 8PM Friday night and the photo of Saturn was taken at 3:30am on Saturday. All photos were taken at ASA of 1600 with exposures of 1/250 sec (moon), 1/8 sec. Jupiter and 2 sec. for Saturn. Images of Jupiter and Saturn were obtain by eyepiece projection using a 15mm Tele Vue eyepiece. In all I acquired 350 digital still photos and created 10 avi
movies using a web cam (yet to be processed).

Do you use some kind of a motorized mount to get these? I love this kind of stuff, would like to get a telescope some day. It's difficult with a camera because your target, if you can keep it, is zooming across the field of view. Good shots.
