We saw this grizzly bear close to the lost lake park having his dinner we never saw a bear before this was in Whistler Canada

This is a black bear. I live on the Olympic Peninsula and have seen several over the years. They are awesome. Grizzlys are not awesome. We are on their menu for breakfast, lunch, dinner or midnight snack!

its funny. I think that people use the term "grizzly" as an affectionate term for "bear," not realizing that a grizzly is actually a particular breed of bear. If this actually were a grizzly, i think the authorities would be a little more anxious.

yeah, I've never seen a "grizzly" either. But having lived in western washington all my life, I've seen lots of Black Bears like this one...(rookie...)

Please understand, this is a black bear. Notice the ears are more pointed at the tip and the fur is dark. The grizzly ears are more rounded and the fur is brown and grey. The black bear is quite common around the Whistler area. Cheers.

What made this person think this is a "grizzly" bear. Looks like a black bear to me.
