A rally in support of Dendreon Corp.'s Provenge prostate cancer drug on May 30, with protests in nine U.S. cities.
A nonprofit group called CareToLive is sponsoring the protests in response to the Food and Drug Administration's May 2007 decision to stall approval of Provenge by requesting additional clinical data, although a few months earlier, an FDA committee had made a favorable recommendation on the drug.

Since the FDA issued the Approvable Letter and delayed patient access to Provenge, 32,536 men have now suffered needlessly premature and painful deaths from prostate cancer as a result of the lack of availability of Provenge.
