Picture I got Monday afternoon of the Young Gray Whale at the bottom of my yard on Budd Inlet

Gray Whale Spotted Monday On Budd Inlet!

I live off of Steamboat Island Rd in the Hunter Point area and went out to sit on the deck for a bit and heard an enormous Snorting Blow and a lot of splashing! It sure sounded like a whale but thought it couldn't be as the water is shallow at the end of my yard. I never would have believed what I was about to see! I stood up to take a look at the commotion and right then I saw it!!! A Gray Whale swirling around in the shallow waters below my yard. I ran in to get my camera and ran back out as fast as my legs could carry me and I was able to snap a few pictures before it moved on Southward. It was an incredible sight to behold as it was so large and graceful at the same time! Truly an experience I will never ever forget.
My friend who lives close by sent my pictures to Cascadia Research. They confirmed it was a young Gray Whale on the thin side.
