With the right conditions on the Upper Dungeness River trail, there are a couple areas where the floor is all flattop ferns, flattening out about 12" tall. One of these areas is about 20 x 20 yards. The downstream breeze is just right at times to set them in motion and in unison. They were on a break for this picture. It is quite a show, worth sitting on the ground and waiting for. Performances all summer.
