M42 & M43

Celestrial Objects

These images were taken Sunday morning under very clear skies. The image M42 (Orion) and M43 is a single 1-minute
image ASA 1600 taken with a 6 inch refractor and a Nikon D3000 DSLR. Comet ISON (see highlight area)was a 2-minute
image taken around 5:45am. The comet coordinates can be
obtained from the website http://theskylive.com/ison-tracker.
Comet ISON is still fairly dim being only magnitude 10.7 in
this photograph.
