KOMO 4 helicopter

KOMO helicopter landing

I am sorry for the loss of life in the helicopter crash today.

I lived in Seattle for a year with my sister (in Fremont) after I lost my job in Boston, and I took some classes at NorthWest Photo Center. While I was out taking photos near the Space Needle, I saw the KOMO 4 helicopter coming in to land, and decided to freeze the motion of the helicopter blades for an assignment. The attached photo is one of two I have from that day. The date of the photo should be 6/23/11.

When I saw the news today about the helicopter crash and location, I knew exactly where it happened because of this photo. I assume the pilot that died is the same as in my photograph.

I just thought I had a nice photo of the helicopter and the building and perhaps you would like to see it. You're welcome to my original raw file if you want it. I am sorry for your loss.

Very nice gesture and photo. I believe it important to note that the heli in your photo is not the aircraft involved in the accident. My heart goes out to all of those touched by this awful event.
