UP UNTIL YESTERDAY AFTERNOON MY SISTER TAMMY PRITCHETT, ONLY HAD HEAVY FINANCIAL BURDENS, SEVERE DISABLING HEALTH ISSUES, A DISABLED HUSBAND, WHOM RECENTLY HAD A PARTIAL LEG AMPUTATION ALONG WITH OTHER MAJOR HEALTH ISSUES, A FINANCED USED CAR THAT THE ENGINE BLEW OUT LESS THAN 4 WEEKS AGO AND STILL HAVING TO MAKE PAYMENTS ON IT. ALL OF THIS SEEMS MINOR IN THE COMPARISON OF THE DEATH OF HER SON, MY NEPHEW, MATTHEW PRITCHETT YESTERDAY AFTERNOON, JULY 16, 2008. APPARENTLY, MATTHEW WAS HOLDING ON TO A GUN FOR A "FRIEND" FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS. AN ACQUAINTANCE WAS VISITING HIM AND ULTIMATELY HE WAS "PROVING" THAT THE GUN WAS EMPTY AND FIRED. TRAGICALLY, THE GUN WAS NOT EMPTY! THE BULLET WENT STRAIGHT INTO HIS HEAD. HE STILL HAD A PULSE AT THIS TIME, BUT DUE TO THE PARAMEDICS NOT ARRIVING IN A TIMELY MANNER, HE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE.
IN ADDITION TO BEING A PLEA FOR ANY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE THAT PEOPLE CAN HELP WITH, IT IS ALSO A LESSON. HOW MANY KIDS HAVE TO DIE BY GUNSHOT WOUNDS BEFORE THEY WILL UNDERSTAND THAT A GUN IS NOT A TOY?
MATTHEW PRITCHETT WAS ONLY 16. HE DIDN'T MAKE IT TO HIS 17TH BIRTHDAY NEXT MONTH.

there are ways to help the family, most banks will open benevolent accounts on behalf of the family so that people can make deposits to help cover expenses. try the bank where the family has their accts at. I am sure they will help out.

I'm sorry for the familys' loss, but the fact that paramedics "did not arrive in a timely manner" is not what killed him, the bullet to the head did. Had this ocurred in a hospital emergency room, the outcome would have still been the same.

I am sorry to hear your loss. But It looks to me that you are already getting ready to sue the paramedics for not "ARRIVING IN A TIMELY MANNER". He passed away so quickly I don't think he could have been saved even if the paramedics were on site
