Mt Rainier & Eagle

Mt. Rainier and Eagles

Took these shots Tuesday evening. There are usually a group of at least 10 to 20 eagles that fly around in the early morning and late evening, especially when we have some good
thermals. Taken with a Nikon D3000 and 200mm telephoto lens.
Jupiter, Mars and Saturn were all visible (and quite clear)
late evening and early morning.

Absolutely stunning, Diver.

The flight silhouette in the picture looks like a Turkey Vulture, based on the dihedral of its wings. Could it be you are seeing a flock of Turkey Vultures? They soar up in a flock from their roost when the morning thermals form.

I lived in the area for 35 years and get tears when I see these beautiful pictures of Mt rainier, I still miss her. I now live in Florida but plan to come "home" sometime soon for living near that beautiful lady. Florida is ok, but I miss Washington
