Capsize at Race Week

Capsized at Race Week!

Whidbey Island Race Week competitor Uno, a Sierra 26X was overwhelmed by a strong gust while returning from Day 1 of racing.

Nearby fellow race boat "Prowler" hurriedly dropped their sails and alerted the Coast Guard and the Race Committee of the situation. A helicopter already in the area hovered overhead as a small motorboat pulled the upside down boat back upright with a line tied around it's keel. All 4 crewmembers were safe and sound and returned to the marina aboard their craft.
