Hello,
I am concerned with the decisions on the animal controls officer to let some cats live in a truck behind the shucks automotive on hwy 99 and 200th. I have made several attempts to get some help for the cats in this situation and nothing seam’s to come about. I have made reports to 911 that these cats cannot live in heat like this in a truck in the back of a store parking lot. The officer 425 754 2625 that went out this morning agreed with me that the cats are in need of better care. There was no water or food in the truck at 6:00 am when I made the report to 911.I called animal controll 425 744 6982 at 10:00 am this morning and the officer that answered the phone informed me that there was nothing ageist the law and he has talked to the individual. The law states all animals should be provided with food and water. Myself and a police officer from you department did not see food and water in that truck……..
Just a bad situation.

g on this story.

If the local animal control won't do anything then contact Pasado's Safe Haven. They will know what to do. I'm amazed that this isn't considered animal cruelty.

Gee, I guess I would rip open that screen and let them loose, sounds like they would do better fending for themselves...Maybe call paws or pesado's safe haven, what a crummy situation and really great of you guys to keep trying to help them.

Pasado's Safe Haven has offered to alter these cats and provide free medical care for them. We have been in contact with their owner, who does love them and also wants the best for them. Questions - contact: achenowe@pasadosafehaven.org

The owner does love them and wants the best for them "sure they do" that's why they've been living in a truck behind a store for a year and apparently "at least sometimes" without food & WATER! FREE THE CATS..

ANY living thing that is forced to live in a 4 foot by 8 foot cubicle is being ABUSED! These sweet innocent cats have no say and have been forced to live this way for atleast a year from the way this article reads.

Living in a truck os no life for a cat or cats they need to be inside a loving home where they can be part of an family. If this owner really loves his animal or animals he would put them up for adoption or let them live in his home. FREE THE CATS!!!

OK so explain to me... how is it, if I leave my dog in a parked car in a parking lot on any given day it would be considered abuse.. even with windows open, on cloudy days it can get too hot.. but it is ok for these cats to be in a truck 24/7? Why?

If they have been there for a year they have been getting food and water.Or are these some new breed of maintenance free cat?You have watched this truck for a year?Get a life.Do you help homeless people?I doubt it because they are not cute and furry.

this cats has feelings too like human also, they need immediately attention.needs a loving home. this is abused and abondoned! free the cats and give them long lives...

Please tell me where I will go take them off the owners hands and bring them home. I can foster them until they are adopted. carmelitazar@comcast.net

FREE THE CATS!!!

is a homeless person trapped in the back of a truck? if he/she is sound like you would just walk by. no i have not been watching the truck for a YEAR. i would not let it go on that long thats why i posted. I found out 8 days ago.

To everyone, I just wanted to advise that we are dealing with this situation. Our other animal control officer just contacted the owner. Homes have been found for 2 cats and he has 24 hours to find homes or better living conditions for the other 3

I have a solution. 300 degrees at 2 1/2 hours. Best served with BBQ sauce. Bon Apetite !

This person should be brought up upon animal cruelty charges.

ok, it's been 24 hours.... care to update?

Lpalumbo: see if you can confirm what Karen Manser said in above comment with the police department by calling or visiting them and produce a follow-up story. Thanks.

I have seen his guy, he does care for these cats. I saw him feed and care and or check on them every half an hour or sowhen he stayed by us. So just putting my two cents in. I do understand the situation and the concerns.

Every living thing with nerve cells experiences basic feelings: pain, pleasure, pressure, etc., whether it's a cat or Uncle Bubba (oh, jury's out on Uncle Bubba -- too many beers and all his nerve cells are numb). But at least Uncle Bubba can sweat.

AND... just so you know where I'm coming from, the more people I meet (especially on the web), the more I really appreciate my dog and 2 cats!

No animal or human should have to live in a truck, especially in a 100 or more degree car. it's in humane. get the cats out. if the owner is in the car get him or her out and give them help.

The picture of the cat says it all. Sad. I'm trying to comprehend how someone can love their animals yet confine them in a truck for a year. Something's missing from this story.

I know the owener of the cats He does make sure thay have food and water At this time he is homeless He is working but not making enough to pay the high cost of rent I am not saying what he is doing is right He should give them to a good home

The owner of the cats may really care for them but it is still animal cruelty. If they cared for them enough they would find someone that would take care of them temporarily until they had a place other than the back of there truck to keep them.

They must not care for them. It makes you wonder. If they had a kids would they be stuck in the back of the truck too. That is total and pure animal cruelty. Something should be done. Free the cats. There is a lot of people that would care for them.

poor cats i dont care if they are cute this is cruel! how would they like it to be trapped in a truck for a hole YEAR!!!! i wish i could save those cats :( i hope my cat doesnt die T^T i love him so much D: i never want him to get near a truck ever!!

the cats are not abused! they are all happy and healthy! they are not in the truck anymore and haven't been for awhile now.. why don't you all find something better to do
