The Emerald City Show Ski Team Has been around since the early Eighties. They used to have a few dozen members performing all kinds of tricks on water skis. From building Pyramids multiple levels in the air, doing ballet routines with spins and no hands on one ski, to skiing without any skis at all ( yes almost 40 miles an hour on just your bare feet ). Since then the team has grown older and lost many members to Children, work restraints, or just plain Ageing. As it stands now we have 2-4 original members from the 80's and about a dozen and a half newer members. This year's Aquafest was very challenging, but we pulled it off. Saturday morning saw us winning 1st place in the Aquafest parade, and a 1st place finish for Shawn Cliney in the Aquafest Slolom ski competition. On Sunday we awoke to a drizzle on the lake that could drownd a toad, but the show went on. Boy what a show it was. Our audience, many posted up in parked cars along the side of Lake Stevens North Cove, Honked and cheered anyway. The show went good, but with the recent lack of teammates, it could have been much more involved. This is where I say that you, yes you can come and learn to ski, practice your existing skills, and learn some new tricks!!! All it takes is a good attitude some athletic ability and a willingness to learn. there is over 100 years of waterskiing experience to show you how to "make it look easy". If you are interested you can contact Ivy @ " firstname.lastname@example.org " or call 425-377-8000 and ask for Ivy. See you next year, maybe sooner !!!!
