Dash Point Fire Dept. Arrives at Chief Packers Funeral

Pictures from Chief Packers funeral

My husband Chris and I are big supporters of the fire department, as my father is the Assitant Fire Chief at Browns Point Dash Point Fire. So we wanted to take our son Talan to watch the funeral procession to show our support to first responders. It was an amazingly overwhelming experience, to see all the flashing lights, the fire fighters, fire trucks, police, aid units and the few people who came out to stand on the sidewalk and say thank you to those who put their lives on the line to protect and save us.
The most interesting thing about the processional was the amount of "Thank You's" we got from the firefighters as they drove by us with our American Flag. A Kent Firefighter, who is now my son's new best friend, stopped and talked with Talan, then gave him his National Fire Academy pin. So if you are the fire fighter in the picture with my son, or if you are from the Kent Fire Department and you know him, please tell him thank you from the Ward family. We appreciate his kindness.

Anna, thank you for the kind words and the support your family offered during the memorial service. I hope Talan enjoyed the parade of apparatus for Chief Packer. Sincerely, Captain Kyle Ohashi kohashi@ci.kent.wa.us
