My cousin, Mike Myers, is a Chief in the Navy and just returned from spending a year in Bhagdad, Iraq working with ground forces. He and another officer, Lt. Bernard Tom O'Neill, were were awarded Bronze Star Medals on Monday, August 18, 2008 for their exceptional service as electronic warfare officers while deployed in Iraq. Mike worked right along side of soldiers in the US Army and said "I knew nothing about the Army before this, but after working with them for a full year, I saw that they really have a tough job. I can't believe they do what they're doing."
Mike is currently stationed in Pensecola, FL and has family all around Washington state. We are extremely proud of him and wanted to share this honor with Komo and the rest of the Seattle area. Bronze stars are not easy to come by and this is a true honor for both of them.
