Kids Co. at Adams "BEFORE"

Local Nonprofit Receives Needed Help!

Kids Co. is a local nonprofit, serving children and families for nearly 20 years. Our mission is to provide and advocate for quality childcare that enriches and nurtures all children, supporting their success in school and in life. And we have wonderful news!

I want to tell you about the United Way Day of Caring project that will happen THIS FRIDAY (9/12) at Kids Co. at Adams Elementary. Kids Co. has 7 locations in the Greater Seattle area, and Kids Co. at Adams is our pilot location. In the past 20 years, the play yard has seen the effects of rainy weather and hundreds of little feet, and it’s time for a remodel.

The “before” picture of the yard really tells the story. We’re so thankful that the United Way has accepted our project proposal, and a team of volunteers from Ben Bridge Jewelers will arrive at Kids Co. at Adams Elementary this Friday at 9:30 a.m., to begin the massive yard renovation. For such a small space, it’s a HUGE project.

We will have our volunteer kick-off at 9:30 a.m., and the work will begin by 10:00 a.m. This is such a wonderful example of a local nonprofit and local businesses coming together to help children. Kids Co. at Adams Elementary shares space with the school, and we are a well-respected and necessary community nonprofit, serving families for 20 years.

I hope you’ll see the value in covering this amazing story and its impact on the families we serve! Kids Co. at Adams is located at 2631 N.W. 62nd Street (98107), in Ballard. This Friday, we will see a remarkable improvement that will impact thousands of out-of-school time hours for children age 2 ½ to 12.

We've received support for this project from the Ballard branch of Sterling Savings Bank, from Miller Paint (also located in Ballard) and from Dunn Lumber, specifically Mr. Tom Dunn. Our community has stepped forward in strong support of our children, and in recognition of the work Kids Co. accomplishes.
