Not sure what type of clouds these are, but all clouds started to form this odd type of shape over our heads and as far as we could see.

My guess is virga, a familiar sight in New Mexico. Rain falls from the cloud, then evaporates in drier air below. I never expected to see it here!

I saw these as well, and took a few photos, I'm curious how these formed as well
