The ability to transform mankind...

Allow me the privilege to introduce you to you a new organization in your neighborhood, Restoration Of The Arts (ROTA). ROTA is a non-profit organization that focuses on using the arts as a tool to reach youth and give them an opportunity to share their voice in a positive constructive manner. This provides an outlet for this initiative to build the sense of community.

ROTA’S desire is to see communities restored by building up our youth. The performing arts is our tool to reach “our youth”. One way to accomplish this goal is to restore the family unit. Family is not only through blood connection but also includes you-our neighbors, local businesses and future partners. We have found an effective way to achieve this aspiration by cultivating our youth spiritually, physically and mentally.

During a time where there is such dissension with our youth and the community as a whole, we need to recognize the sound of children calling out for help! In the past four years the juvenile crime rate has remained around 800 a year. Although we have programs that service our youth we have watched the cut backs and elimination of programs that once kept our youth off the streets. We find that young people are the most overlooked people in our community – except by the law enforcement, the juvenile justice systems and mortuary homes. This must change!

Restoration Of The Arts realizes that we can’t do this alone it truly does takes a village to raise a child or as we like to say “it takes a caring community to restore a hurting community”. The community has a significant role to play. Together we can build this community up by building up this generation. Unity in this endeavor, hard work, a commitment to see change and networking we can make this happen! Together we can intervene at a crucial point in the lives of “our youth” who need what this organization has to offer. We need your support!

Our Annual production Grace will be happening December 20th, 2008 at the Rainier Beach Performing Arts Theater. Two showtimes 1p and 5p. Ticket prices are $15.00. We would love for you to come and join us! For more infomration please contact 206.725.8773
