Sometimes I wonder if I'm crazy getting up at 4:30AM everyday to drive through the rain and darkness to get to work. But today it was worth it. I'm sure only few of us were awake early enough to hear the crack of lightning that preceded the snow and fewer still that were driving about to witness it falling in the streets, but as I dropped my wife off for work before continuing on to my job, I saw a few chances to take some rare pictures. We hardly get snow in Seattle and with so few people out at this hour, there are not many who get to see this, much less capture a few photos. These are along Western just north of Pike's Market around 6:00AM. The first is my favorite. Enjoy!

Thanks for this great photo! I work downtown Seattle, but stayed home today because I didn't want to sit in a bus on I-5 not moving. I want to know if the ground is really covered all over downtown.
