Holiday snow, fate or just a reminder?

The roads were clear, the wife went to work and it was almost warm compaired to the last couple days. We should have stayed in bed. The roads are now powder snow with heavier flakes falling between wind gusts. Slick roads have already cancelled the first of 3 family Christmas parties and it looks like we might have them all next weekend.

I missed the snow when I moved from Eastern Washington and my wife misses the snows of Pennsylvania so this is a welcome reminder of olden days.

Maybe it is just one of those things that happened to remind us this year that sometimes the best of the holiday season is to simply stay home and spend it with our families. Throw another blanket on the couch, brew some hot cocoa and watch a movie with the kids.
