Chad and Ashley

No Going Home

On Saturday the 21st of December Chad and Ashley were scheduled to go to Denver Colorado for Christmas. Chad is in the Army and got a weeks leave to go see his mother who has cancer and he was taking his girlfriend so that she could meet his mom. He took a loan out because it was very important that he get home this christmas. You see he is scheduled to go to Iraq in the next few months and didn't know if he would get leave or even have the money to go to Colorado.
He knew his mother had gone through a couple of bouts of cancer and he needed to get home. He bought 2 tickets and scheduled the trip. All of the forecasts had turned to snow and at that point he was hoping for the best.
Ashleys parents took them to the airport through the snow and dropped them off. They got there early and waited for the plane. It was announced that the plane would be delayed so they waited. Then chad's mom called and said there had been a plane crash in Denver and slightly after that the plane trip was cancelled. Chad waited with Ashley for two hours waiting to see if another plane could take them. The airline told him not until the 24th of December and he would have to wait for a refund so he couldn't try to get aflight from another airline.Ashley called her parents at midnite and asked them to come back to the airport about 30 miles to get them.So they started driving in 6 inches of treatcherous snow and picked them up. They are home safe but very sad because Chad won't be going home.
